HGV Class 1 Driver – Stand-In Transport Coordinator (Night Shift)
Location: Carrington, Greater Manchester
Pay: £231.24 per shift | Overtime: £346.86 per shift
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off (Nights)
Hours: 18:00 – 06:00 (flexible) | Average 42 hours per week

Resolve Recruitment Services is proud to be partnering with a leading logistics provider to recruit an HGV Class 1 Driver – Stand-In Transport Coordinator for a permanent night shift role based in Carrington.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver looking to expand into transport operations, combining professional driving duties with coordination responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting drivers, customers, and the wider transport team, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of the transport plan. This position requires a proactive and organised individual who can adapt quickly and step into coordination duties when required.

Key Responsibilities
Safely operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles as required
Step in to support transport coordination and planning operations
Monitor driver activity, ensuring compliance with regulations
Maintain accurate transport, compliance, and delivery records
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams
Assist in resolving operational issues and delays in real time
Carry out vehicle checks and report defects promptly
Ensure full compliance with Drivers’ Hours rules and the Working Time Directive
Requirements
Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Licence
Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
Strong understanding of Drivers’ Hours regulations and compliance
Previous experience in a driving and/or transport environment
Strong IT skills (TMS systems, Microsoft Office, etc.)
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Good attention to detail and time management skills
Clean or acceptable driving record
