Agency Support Worker – Adults with Autism & Learning Disabilities

Location: Portishead, Bristol
Pay: £13.50 per hour + holiday pay – Days
£14.50 per hour + holiday pay – Nights
Contract: Part-time, Agency
Shifts: Days, with occasional night cover

We are currently recruiting Agency Support Workers to support a residential service for adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities.

The service is looking for reliable, experienced staff to provide part-time day cover, with occasional night shifts required to support the permanent team during periods of annual leave and sickness.

There is potential for 2–3 shifts per week, depending on the needs of the service.

Shift Times
Day: 09:00 – 15:15
Late: 15:00 – 22:15
Night: 22:00 – 09:15

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:

– Previous experience supporting adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities
– Experience administering medication
– Experience supporting individuals with diabetes
– Evidence of relevant training and qualifications
– A caring, patient and reliable approach
– The ability to work confidently as part of a team and independently once fully inducted
– Induction & Shadowing

Before working independently, all agency staff will be required to complete a shadow shift or a minimum of a few hours at the service.

This will allow you to:

– Become familiar with the home and its environment
– Meet and get to know the resident
– Familiarise yourself with the location of key items and equipment
– Read and sign all required documentation
– Complete any additional online training required by Blossoming Homes
– Once the induction process has been completed and you are deemed competent to work within the service, shifts will be offered according to the needs of the service.
